A Player To Watch Out For

Last night’s preseason gaming against the San Fransisco 49ers showcased the depth of the Tennessee Titans and players looking to make the 53-man roster. A few players stood out last night but there is one in particular that fans should keep a watch on.

Rookie David Martin-Robinson saw the most action out of all the tight ends in Saturday’s preseason win. Martin-Robinson played 35 snaps on offense and 6 snaps on special teams.

While on the field, Martin-Robinson displayed his strength and versatility as a tight end. At 6’3 247lbs, Martin-Robinson is an imposing figure. On his second catch of the game, Martin-Robinson was able to turn up field and gain yards after the catch.

On this play, Martin-Robinson motioned into the backfield. He then proceeded to set a block for Hasaan Haskins. Haskins was able to gain positive yards after Martin-Robinson made contact with the 49er’s defender.

Martin-Robinson may be the guy that stood out the most, but he is definitely in a tight battle for tight end 3/4. Head coach Brian Callahan spoke on what he saw from the tight end group after Saturday night’s game.

Personally, I haven’t been this excited about the preseason in a long time. It was great to see the ones get significant snaps especially on offense. We also got to see some potential contributors make their case for the 53-man roster. I’m already looking forward to preseason game 2 vs the Seattle Seahawks next Saturday August 17th at 6pm CT.
