Delanie Walker Named First-Time Nominee For Pro Football Hall Of Fame

Former Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker has been named as a first-time nominee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. The initial list of 167 candidates, revealed on Wednesday, includes eight former Titans players, highlighting the team’s rich history of talent.

Walker is joined by other Titans greats, including quarterback Steve McNair, running backs Eddie George and Chris Johnson, fullback Lorenzo Neal, wide receiver Derrick Mason, cornerback Samari Rolle, and kicker Gary Anderson. The group represents a significant era in Titans history, and Walker’s inclusion in the Hall of Fame discussion adds to the legacy he built during his time in Tennessee.

Originally signed by the Titans as a free agent in 2013 after spending the first seven years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, Walker quickly became a cornerstone of the Titans’ offense. Over a span of 14 seasons, Walker started 100 games and totaled 504 receptions for 5,888 yards and 36 touchdowns, averaging 11.7 yards per reception. Most of that production came in his six seasons with the Titans, where he emerged as one of the top tight ends in the NFL.

While with Tennessee, Walker started 60 games, amassing 381 receptions for 4,423 yards and 28 touchdowns, with an average of 11.6 yards per reception. His outstanding play earned him three consecutive Pro Bowl selections in 2015, 2016, and 2017. He became a fan favorite and was known for his ability to contribute not only as a receiver but also as a reliable blocker and team leader.

Walker’s impact on the Titans was undeniable, as he consistently delivered in crucial moments and became a key weapon for the team’s offense. His combination of size, speed, and versatility made him one of the league’s most complete tight ends during his peak years in Nashville.

As a first-time nominee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Walker’s career is being recognized alongside some of the NFL’s greatest players. With a resume that includes over 500 career receptions and a lasting influence on the Titans franchise, Walker’s nomination marks a significant milestone in his football journey.
