FRISCO, Texas– The Dallas Cowboys released LB Rashaan Evans on Wednesday to make room for OT Matt Waletzko who was activated off IR after dealing with a shoulder injury suffered in training camp. Prior to being released, Evans was arrested Tuesday by Frisco Police Department for possession of marijuana. Team sources said that his release was not related to his arrest.
Evans was drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. In his 4yrs with the team, he started 50 games and recorded 371 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 2 interceptions. In 2022, he joined the Atlanta Falcons and started in all 17 games. In 17 games with the Falcons, Evans recorded 159 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble. He would go on to be signed by the Dallas Cowboys in October where he played in 9 games and recorded 9 tackles.
