I can’t believe I’m putting my time an energy into our 6th round draft pick. Well, yes I can. My fellow fans always find a way to make me do my homework and form my own opinions. While they cry about passing on Malik Washington, I’m going to tell you why the Titans made the right choice by passing on him for Jha ‘Quan Jackson.
I already know how some of these fans think. They don’t do anything but look at yards, touchdowns, and highlight videos on YouTube with NBA YoungBoy playing in the background. They don’t care to look into things deeper than they appear. With that being said, Malik Washington was a much more productive wide receiver in college.
I can’t discredit his year to year progression and an amazing 2023 season which was his best season. Washington recorded 110 catches for 1426 yards and 9 touchdowns. Jha ‘Quan Jackson’s best season in 2022 isn’t even half of what Washington accomplished in 2023. They appear to be the same type of player to me. Both are quick and shifty slot guys, but there are 2 things that Jackson has that Washington doesn’t. Jackson has long speed (16.0 yds a catch for his career vs. Washington’s 12.1) and THE ABILITY TO PLAY SPECIAL TEAMS.
Look y’all, regardless of what you think about the current wide receiver situation for the Tennessee Titans, Malik Washington wouldn’t have been an immediate contributor for the team this year. Jha’ Quan Jackson is going to come in and play a significant role on the team as a punt and kick returner from the jump while working on his skills as a wide receiver. Y’all been crying for almost 20yrs for a return man, and now y’all are crying because we got one.
I love my fellow fans, but that Titans PTSD is kicking y’all’s ass. With late round picks, teams are pretty much looking for developmental pieces and special teamers. They are not looking for day 1 starting caliber players. If they get that, its a bonus. Stop getting upset about silly shit and TITAN TF UP!!!!
