The Titans should Target this Wide Receiver in the 2nd Round of the 2024 NFL Draft!

The Titans improved their receiving corps in free agency with the explosive addition of Calvin Ridley. Though Tennessee’s need at wide receiver lessens with the acquisition of Ridley, GM Ran Carthon shouldn’t hesitate to add more talent to the position group early in the draft. Offensive Tackle will likely be the Titans’ first-round selection, but receiver in the second round is definitely in the cards. Oregon WR Troy Franklin would be the ideal second-round pick for the Two-Tone Blue, and here’s why!

Franklin is a speedy deep threat with a knack for explosive plays. The 21-year-old was Oregon’s top receiver in 2023, forming a formidable connection with quarterback Bo Nix. The junior hauled in 81 catches for 1,383 and 14 TDS last season and had an 87.3 PFF receiving grade. Franklin’s ability to stretch the field and create separation would complement Deandre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley perfectly and provide Will Levis with another explosive playmaker.

An underrated aspect of Franklin’s game is his diverse route running. The former four-star recruit’s smooth and twitchy route running in the short and intermediate passing game is often overlooked. Franklin’s versatile skill set allows him to play in the slot and function as a chess piece in an offense, something Brian Callahan loves in a young receiver.

Once the second round commences in April, the Titans will have plenty of talented prospects on their draft board, but Troy Franklin should be on top of the list. The Oregon WR’s expertise as a deep threat, paired with his underappreciated route-running versatility, would give Tennessee a dangerous three-headed monster at wide receiver!
